recent developments in my life
i've been doing and getting into new things lately. mostly quality of life stuff, and most don't really matter in the grand scheme of things, but they are new to me, so i thought it would be fun to list them down.
- i got into perfumes. well, if you can call getting a sample-size decant, "got into". i'm still trying to figure out what i like and don't like, but i've learned that musky doesn't mean what i thought musky meant. i've also learned that i have a preference for perfumes that don't project as much or come off as "strong". i especially like the terms second skin and skin scent.
- i shifted from daily logs to weekly logs. after years of failing and retrying and failing to commit to maintaining a daily journal or log in an obsidian vault, i've decided to do weekly logs instead. it's working out a lot better so far, and i'm even getting excited about doing them every end of the week. i don't think i will be posting these on here for now. like this blog's tagline, they're more for me than for you.
- i overhauled my bearblog. i haven't been posting on here as consistently as i'd like to, but i got over my monospace fixation and i wanted to match the feel of my blog to the perfume i'm currently trying out. i don't know if the current feel communicates its scent at all, but it's not coming off as "strong" so far, so i'll stick with it for now. i'm also trying to write more on here. it's just a problem of trying to figure out what i want written here that won't be redundant with my private, offline, obsidian vault.
- i'm trying to get into more anime again. i watch anime in the worst way someone can watch anime, which is intermittently and with rarely ever Completing an anime. currently, i'm on my first watch of cowboy bebop, which i am enjoying a lot. i love the artstyle and the music, and a lot of the sequences are so cinematic. i don't know that i have a preferred anime genre so far, but i will try to watch more once i complete cowboy bebop.
- i played my first roguelite game. it's not a new title, and it's called vampire survivors. i am addicted to it, but i'm trying not to default to playing it so much whenever i get on my computer. i've never been intrigued by the genre, and they often look weird and overwhelming. still, i gave this one a shot and now i understand why the genre is so popular (dopamine dopamine dopamine DOPAMINE). i don't know if i'll be playing more roguelites anytime soon.
like i said, none of these things matter, really, but i've been trying to figure myself out more as a person and as an adult. like what i like, and what i don't like, and what are things i enjoy consuming or doing with my partner and things that i enjoy as an individual. it's a process, but i think trying new things is a good start β especially the things i used to dismiss or think i wouldn't be interested in.
