Cat Playing With A Box by Hayley Jane Wakenshaw

i like things. i like writing, i think? so, i write about a lot of things. i also like video games and tech. on especially good and sunny days, i edit videos. i used to be a video editor (for fun and monetary purposes), but the title has become more writer (and the field more digital marketing) as of late.

i'm quite the believer in the idea that the things i consume (or, uh, enjoy) can mold my personality and mindset. i'm trying not to let them dictate me, but sometimes things can be so meaningful they become almost formative.

a lot of the posts on this blog were worded on my little phone. i still use the iphone with the fat bezels and a home button, so we're talking really little phone. otherwise, i usually browse and write on bearblog on my "midrange" desktop pc. if you're curious, here's more on the stuff i use.

i'm just a 30 year old with access to the internet. like you. the mood of my writing pendulums between casual disregard for my living and naive optimism depending on the events of my day, most of which i fail to talk about in the posts.

say hello:

about the blog

on here, i write exclusively in lowercase for cosmetic purposes, as well as for me to get a break from the proper, serious writing i do for work. sometimes, i will capitalize words for emphasis when i think a word needs highlighting without the visual drama of bold or italic.

all content on this blog is licensed under cc by-nc-sa 4.0, including anything you may find in the css. a lot of it is stuff i've found online and on bearblog as well, which i reference and/or credit as much as i can in css comments.

this bearblog uses the Archie theme with slightly modified css to incorporate a shade of green i'm currently into. in light mode, it's supposed to look like those old digital casio watches. i've been in a monospace mood recently, so i'm using the font jetbrains mono for now.

my customized upvote button is a lazy frankenstein of functioning.blog's tutorial, sylvia's fun and in-depth breakdown, and my wish to not visually quantify engagement. also, because i suddenly remembered kaomojis from the days of using blackberry messenger to talk with friends after school.
