decluttering (REAL)
gf and i decided to sit down and do some late spring cleaning.
we got rid of a lot of clothes that were too small, too stained, or too much out of touch with the way we clothe ourselves. it went surprisingly breezy. deciding which pair of jeans or sweater went in the “dispose” bin and which ones were to be folded neatly into our “donate” box was—it turned out—no dilemma at all.
then we turned to our books.
and even though ebooks exist and are convenient, and we do read them a lot, i think seeing the physical books evoked something we just didn’t feel with the clothes.
decluttering is one of those things you dread doing just because it naturally comes with a lot of work and lifting and decision-making, but i’m so glad we made the time for it. once we got started, it was actually pretty breezy.
our room is a lot neater now and it just feels less stressful to move around. also feels nice to know we took care of a lot of our stuff. our donate pile was bigger than our dispose bin, so i think that’s great.
i hope we can declutter some more spaces in the house next time!
